This part time, 8hr/week position provides a full range of administrative, operational and research support services to the Board Chairperson and, as directed by the Chair, to the Board of Trustees. This individual will assist the Board Chair to maximize and prioritize her/his time and is responsible for all board communications on behalf of the Chair. The Executive Assistant further supports the Board of Trustees (BOT) as a group, and the individual Trustees as directed by the Chair, in preparation, logistics, and planning for all board meetings, events, activities and conference calls. The Executive Assistant to the Board Chair is an employee of Kripalu and therefore reports to the CEO, who assigns and delegates the responsibilities of this position in service to the Board Chair.


  • This position will work an average of eight hours a week, except three times a year when presence at a BOT meeting is required.

    Work schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays 2:
    00pm - 6:00pm.

  • Available to attend three regular BOT meetings per year, in January, May, and September (dates vary each year with notice given at least one year in advance).

    During regular BOT meetings, the Executive Assistant must be on site from 3:
    00pm Saturday through 6:00pm Monday on the assigned weekend. Housing and meals will be provided.

  • Available to attend an occasional Special Meeting of the Board, if needed. This is a rare situation.

  • Available to record meeting minutes at all BOT meetings and Board Committee meetings. There are between one and five committee meetings per month with variable schedules.

  • Available to meet with the Board Chair or other Trustees as assigned in Boston, Massachusetts, or at Kripalu Center at least once every quarter.

  • This position may work remotely. The Board Chair may request in-person meetings on occasion.


  • Serves as liaison between the Board Chair and internal and external constituents.

  • Manages communications, email, and phone for Board Chair.

  • Assists Board Chair with short and long-term projects.

  • Schedules all BOT meetings, events, activities, and calls.

  • Monitors Trustee calendars and schedules, sends reminders, and provides meeting and call-in information with precision and appropriate notice.

  • Coordinates and supports production and logistical needs for all BOT conferences, events, activities, and events including scheduling, room preparation, and Audio-Visual technology.

  • Arranges travel schedules and reservations for the Board Chair and Trustees as necessary.

  • Regulates trustee benefits, including booking Kripalu accommodations.

  • Records minutes of all BOT and Committee meetings and calls and distributes minutes as directed by Board Chair and/or Committee Chairs.

  • Prepares PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other materials for BOT meetings and other events.

  • Maintains the BOT website and ensures that all materials are up to date, organized, and accessible.

  • Conducts web-based research on priority projects as directed by the Board Chair.

  • Ensures smooth functioning of all BOT processes such as signatures and approvals.

  • Provides basic clerical support as assigned by the Board Chair.

  • Communicates with the Executive Assistant of the CEO to coordinate CEO/Board Chair activities.

  • Completes additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Board Chair and CEO.

  • Minimum of three years direct experience supporting executive level administration.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, and Outlook.

  • Strong organizational and clerical skills and ability to coordinate project oriented tasks.

  • Must be self-directed, self-confident, and articulate.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated high engagement with administrative process and procedure.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
